Hi, my name is Lili Perez, and I am a multimedia journalist with a passion for storytelling. Whether it’s public relations, photography, videography or writing, I love using different tools to bring stories to life.
Photojournalism
I provide coverage for personal and client events, which includes portrait, live event and sports coverage. I love being able to capture the emotion of the moment and provide clients with a compelling product to keep forever.
Project Management/Team Building
In various campaigns, I guide a team through the process of planning, cultivating, and producing work for a client. By the end of the campaign, we measure the success rate of our results and hit every objective. We track our progress through social media metrics and testimonials.
With my former experience as a feature editor and current position as creative lead, I guide my peers through the process of telling a story visually. Designing a story is a process that starts at the beginning, and I help others make their visions come to life.
Leadership
Serving as a Team Lead has shown me how to support my peers with encouragement and inspire them to excel daily. My primary focus is always on my team and staff while maintaining a high level of transparency. As a professional, I have gained the skills to manage my responsibilities while providing others with feedback and support.
My Experience
**Sports Journalism 2023:** Developed engaging journalism products that encompassed photography, written content, and graphic design.
**Public Relations 2023-present:** Created high-quality materials for a variety of clients, including sports highlight videos, infographics, dance recap videos, senior spotlight graphics, and additional projects.
**Newsroom 2023-present:** Responsible for the design, writing, and distribution of a monthly student-led newspaper that showcased photos, graphics, and written content.
**Orb Feature Lead 2023-2024:** Oversaw a section of the school news magazine, the ORB, ensuring timely completion of tasks while fostering collaborative efforts to achieve the best outcomes.
**Ball State J-Day 2023 & 2024:** Engaged in sessions focused on photography, public relations, leadership, and other relevant topics.
**IU High School Journalism Institute 2024:** Studied and designed intricate design elements using Adobe InDesign under the mentorship of Steve Layton.
**Sports Media 2024-present:** Create and produce compelling visuals for a specific sports team. Products include online stories, photo galleries, video projects and more.
**Orb Creative Lead 2024-present:** Provided direction for the visual and conceptual development of news magazine issues, ensuring high standards of quality and cohesive design that align with the values of the school and the goals of the staff.
**JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention 2024:** Attended workshops addressing Adobe platforms such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
**Indiana High School Press Association Student Board President 2025-present:** Lead a board of aspiring student journalists in the goal to spread journalism in Indiana and accomplish large, life-changing projects.
**Marketing and Communications Intern at Hamilton East Public Library:** Created and produced photo galleries and weekly recap reels to bring awareness to all the activities happening at the local library.
**Media & Communications Summer Intern at Hamilton Southeastern High School 2025:** Promoted HSE pride and activity during summer through reels, graphics, press releases, and photos.
